| what a crazy, crazy week. i'm so excited it's friday. it's clam chowder day in the caf and i get to fly home to see my pup. woot! california here i come! i'm also super excited to get rid of this kia rio i've been renting. man what a piece of crap! |

| after 3 weeks, i'm finally starting to see signs of fall. i hear the colors will last < 1 week.

| so, cali girl packs for 2 weeks in NY. turns out i'm staying for 4. and in the middle of this, the first snow storm of the season hits, rendering me drastically unprepared. i mean, i packed running shorts. fail. so today being my first free saturday, i went shopping for a down jacket & boots. of course, it would be way too logical and efficient to come away with that. so instead, i bought myself non-waterproof, non-weatherproof, not-even-remotely-acceptable-for the office shoes.  yes, they are purple.  and no, i haven't worn chucks since...high school. i don't know what possessed me, but purple shoes with lavender laces were too cute to pass up. it's like i'm 12 or something. *sigh* |
